The Yukon is seeking applicants with proven entrepreneurial and business skills to operate their businesses to help the northern territory’s economy. All those applying under the Yukon Business Nominee Program (YBNP) must desire to control and work a business within Yukon.
Applicants who are chosen will receive a letter of support for a two-year work permit from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).On this work permit, the applicant can build themselves and their business in the Yukon. These two years, the applicant will receive support from the territory to apply for permanent residence with IRCC, provided they meet the eligibility requirements.
To eligible for the Yukon Business Nominee stream, applicants must have official language test scores showing proficiency similar to the Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 4 or higher.
In the business immigration stream, applicants must show that they have enough business ownership or management knowledge to successfully build and run a business in Yukon. Applicants at least have three years of entrepreneurial or business management experience and at least five years of related work experience.
Applicants must prove a personal net worth of at least CAD 500,000. And successful applicants must invest a minimum of CAD 300,000 in a Yukon business which they will build and run. The applicant must own at least one-third (33.33%) of the Yukon business.
The business must also be in one of Yukon’s strategic sectors, and must not be in an ineligible industry.
Eligible applicants will be invited to sign a business performance agreement with Yukon that outlines the conditions under which the applicant will receive a provincial nomination.
